feel happy

At some point, we all start wondering: why are we living, what's the meaning of our lives, what's our purpose? At first, we feel confused, don't know what to tell ourselves, turn to a psychologist or coach. But the answer is right there on the surface. Think about what we usually wish for others — happiness. Actually, happiness is exactly that state of being we all dream of and strive for.

Second question: how to be happy? First, let's figure out what "being happy" means. The simple answer "always being in a happy state" sounds like a junkie's dream. Sure, you can easily get into a state of euphoria with drugs, but that won't bring happiness to your life — quite the opposite, it'll take it away forever, which is why drugs are banned.

But each of us knows what happiness is and can easily remember happy moments from our lives. Notice this: we experienced "moments" of happiness, but we're looking for "being" — that is, staying in a state of happiness. That's a hint — we shouldn't chase an impossible dream, we should experience moments of happiness more often.

Third question: how to experience moments of happiness more often? And here's where we can really get into it — it's usually what drives us when we're not working: rest, entertainment, travel, sports — all of this brings us moments of joy! And some people even get pleasure at work doing what they love! So there's no secret to happiness — it's what we usually do anyway.

Fourth question: if we're already doing all this, then why do we complain about the lack of happiness? Here there are two options: it's negativity that harms us, or we spend our time aimlessly, not reaching joy. Let's deal with each of these enemies separately.

Negativity — this includes pain, suffering, envy, and everything else we want to avoid. Our task will be to avoid any negativity by any means: physically — get away from what causes pain, and mentally — look for positive moments in what can't be avoided.

The second enemy is aimlessness. Here mindfulness will help us. We need to understand that by aimlessly killing our time, we're depriving ourselves of the most important thing — happiness. By setting goals and achieving them, we become happier! Consciously break down your big goal into small achievable steps-subgoals, and you'll experience joy more often! Reach goals together, and this will multiply both your joy and your friends' joy. It's no accident we love team games and sports — both players on a team and fans multiply the shared joy.
